January Children’s Activity Calendar

January 1 Solemnity of Mary, Mother God

As we jump into the new year, let us take a moment today to call on Mary as our Mother. Ask for her to draw your family closer to her Son throughout the year ahead. Attend Mass as a family to celebrate this day in the Church.

January 3 Feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus
As a family, pray the Litany of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. You can find the prayer here.

January 6  Sharing the Story of Epiphany on Facebook Live
Join us for a special Storytime Facebook Live with Megan Copeland! Megan is a part of His Beloved of Texas, a group of Catholic lay women based in Austin, TX, and we are so excited to have her with us to share the story of Epiphany on our Facebook page.

January 10 Feast of the Baptism of the Lord
Today the Church celebrates Jesus’ baptism, so this is an awesome opportunity to talk with your children about what baptism is and share memories from their own baptisms. Share pictures from the day they were baptized, call Godparents, light your child’s baptismal candle and say a prayer for your child. These are also great traditions to start on their baptism anniversaries!

January 16 Sign up for a February Small Group with Beyond the Pew
Beyond the Pew offers free, virtual small groups! Community and discussion with other Catholic parents, no babysitter required and from the comfort of your own home. Groups meet once a week, for the first three weeks in February. Men’s and women’s groups are available at different days and times, just select your preference when registration opens on this day. Stay tuned for updates and registration links on our Facebook page.

January 21 Feast of Saint Agnes
Saint Agnes was a child when she went to be with the Lord, so through the story of Saint Agnes we can share with our children how we are called to be saints right now! Kaki and Hannah will be hosting our Facebook Live today sharing a fun way to celebrate this feast day with your kids.

January 22 Day of Prayer for the Unborn
Today is the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and the day established by the Church of penance for abortion. Say a prayer of thanks for the gift of life and offer prayers and fasting for the legal protection and safety of unborn children. Learn more about this day here.

January 25 Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul
Together as a family, pray for those of your family, friends, and community who do not know the Lord. Pray for their conversion and ask St. Paul to pray for them as well. We are encouraged by St. Paul’s life and example that the Lord can transform hearts and bring the lost to Himself.

January 28 Prayer Service on Facebook for Children/Family/Friends who have Left the Faith
On the evening of January 28th, we will be hosting a special prayer service to pray for those in our lives who have stepped away from the faith or have walked away from the Lord. Access the prayer service by joining us on the Facebook page.
