Help Rethink Youth Ministry!

Come join our team of talented men and women who have been called to serve as missionaries! Each youth minister is dedicated to serving a specific parish community, while gaining valuable ministery and professional experience from their Director of Youth Ministries. We believe that ministry done in community will create an environment for the minister to thrive. When the youth minister thrives, the ministry will thrive. To learn more about what it means to be a missionary with Ablaze read below!

Here at Ablaze we approach ministry from a 360˚ approach, which means that we believe that it is important to pour into our youth ministers, youth, and parents. When hired, Ablaze takes the time and energy to form and develop their staff members in order to make them the most qualified in the field. Every youth minister is supervised by a director of youth ministry (DYM) who has received a Masters in a ministry field. In the same way, every DYM is supervised by a local office director to grow as a leader. These relationships help to foster a dynamic working environment which leads us to form new and exciting ways to rethink youth ministry for the young Church!

We believe that ministry done in community will create an environment for the minister to thrive. At Ablaze, we live every part of our mission in community. No matter what parish team you are on, you will never be alone. From youth nights to retreats, you will always have a community around you. Not only that but we begin everyday in prayer together as a staff!

Ablaze is committed to continuing your spiritual and theological formation. Every missionary is required to attend the St. John Bosco Conference hosted by Franciscan University of Steubenville as well as other professional youth ministry conferences and trainings throughout the year. Every missionary meets with their supervisor regularly for guidance, training and accountability within their program. Ablaze Ministries’ theological formation meets the Diocese of Austin’s requirements for Catechist Level 1 Certification.

Missionary Support

All of the jobs below are considered missionary roles. Ablaze Missionaries are individuals called to serve the Church by participating in the mission to “make disciples of all nations,” entrusted to us by our Savior to the Apostles in Matthew 28:19. Because of this radical connection to the mission of the Church, missionaries of Ablaze are dependent on raising their own salary while supporting their ministry. This allows our missionaries to invite others into their mission and be financially sustained.

Does fundraising sound scary?

Some of our missionaries have thought that too.

First, let’s kick some myths about fundraising to the curb:

  • Myth: Fundraising is begging
  • Myth: People won’t support me being a missionary
  • Myth: Fundraising is unprofessional
  • Myth: I’m going to be poor
  • Myth: This is impossible

I have been blown away by people’s generosity.
