Refuge: A Call to Build What the World Needs Most

There is a word the Lord has placed on our hearts.
A word that speaks of safety, belonging, and hope.
A word the world is desperate for.

That word is Refuge.

For many young people across Texas, refuge is not a place they have ever known.
It is not something they have run toward.
It is not something they have felt.

But God has called Ablaze to change that story.

Through the Refuge Campaign, we are stepping into that call—building spaces where students can rest, belong, and encounter Jesus in the middle of their story, not after they have it all together. We are planting roots in new cities, forming strategic partnerships, and walking boldly through doors the Lord Himself has opened.

And in all of it, something holy is unfolding.

Refuge for the Forgotten

One of the clearest places we see God at work is within the Texas Juvenile Justice System.

Each week, our missionaries and mentors step into rooms where students on probation gather. We do not see labels, cases, or past mistakes. We see sons and daughters—young men and women wrestling with identity, purpose, and calling.

Through mentorship, prayer, and consistent presence, walls are coming down.
Students who have spent their lives being told who they are not are beginning to discover who God says they are.

This is refuge in action.
This is the Gospel—alive and at work.

A Movement Already in Motion

God has already begun to provide.

Our campaign goal is $1.8 million to help us build, prepare, and welcome students into places of Refuge in Boerne, Bryan, Waco, and beyond.

Communities across Texas are reaching out—asking us to bring mentorship, outreach, and refuge to their cities. We are not forcing the path forward.

The Lord is paving it.

Your Part in the Story

When you give to Ablaze, you are not simply funding a program.

You are building refuge for students who have never known safety or belonging.
You are walking with us into juvenile centers and schools.
You are standing shoulder to shoulder with missionaries who show up in the most vulnerable moments of a student’s life.
You are saying yes to a movement few are willing to enter.

Your generosity becomes presence.

Your investment becomes hope.

Your obedience becomes refuge.

Refuge Is Calling

The story of Refuge is only beginning.

In the months ahead, we will invite you into every step—sharing progress, stories of lives transformed, and the ways God is building something far bigger than any one of us. We are standing at a moment of growth and expansion, and your partnership is part of this unfolding story.

Together, we will build what the world cannot give—but Jesus freely offers.

Refuge is not a place.
It is a promise.
And it is time to build it.
