Ministry Background: Jesus caught my attention at a retreat I attended when I was 15 years old.  At this retreat, I heard God inviting me to be a missionary.  And I could have never guessed the adventure God would have in store! His call led me through many different ministry doors throughout high school and college, and it eventually led me to England where I served as a missionary at a youth retreat center.  After a year in England, Jesus led me back to the great state of Texas to serve with Ablaze as a Campus Minister. Last year I had the privilege of serving at St. Joseph Catholic School in Bryan, and I now have the privilege of serving in Waco at St. Louis-Reicher Catholic School. If being a Campus Minister has taught me anything, it is that Jesus never stops moving and loving His children.  The greatest blessing of being a Campus Minister is that I have a daily, front-row seat to all of the good things God is doing. I get to sit on small groups, have discussions with the students about life, God, video games- you name it! And most of all, I get to pray for them and with them. Walking alongside students has been a reminder for me that Jesus is never done with us, He never stops pursuing us, and His joy reaches to the ends of the earth.

Passions and interests: I love the summertime, hanging out with family and friends, dancing, reading, listening to podcasts, playing soccer, eating Tex-Mex, and any combination of the above.

How did you become involved with Ablaze/why are you involved? I was put in contact with Matt Rice through someone I met during my time in graduate school. After hearing about the mission of Ablaze, I was compelled to be a part of it. That “yes” I said to join Ablaze’s mission has given me a community of people I love, a community of people who edify me in countless ways. That “yes” has brought a deeper joy into my own family and community back home. That “yes” has taught me that doing something seemingly crazy for God will not only bring you happiness, but it will lead you to wisdom and freedom, too. Ablaze is a mission I am incredibly humbled to be a part of, and I pray many others join this mission of spreading God’s goodness to young people.
