As I sat down to write, I immediately drew a blank.  What should I write about?  What do I have to share?  What is it that might help someone else?  Why would anyone want to read this?  What do I have to say that hasn’t already been said?  As I continued to ask myself these questions, I realized that they continued to get darker, full of self-doubt and very discouraging to the point of me, wanting to turn away and give up.   I don’t want to give up, but maybe I should?  Then after a stopping the self-doubt and telling Satan to leave me alone, this is what the Lord led me to realize.

run to the lord, and run fast

When feeling doubt, lacking confidence or just feeling inadequate, run to the Lord, and run fast.  He gives us a whole book of mighty Proverbs to help us when we need it.  It is filled with so many one-liners that can give us the kickstart that we need and get us back on our feet, ready to walk again following in his footsteps.  I hope these three will help you when you feel like giving up or when things just feel like they are too much to handle.  They gave me comfort and confidence to continue the tasks at hand.

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the just man runs to it and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10

Pray with this song when you’re in need of a boost.

“Entrust your works to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3

He will not lead you astray nor leave your side

Every good thing comes from God.  So include him in your never-ending list of things to do, your actions, your plans, your goals and your dreams.

“Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may eventually become wise.” Proverbs 19:20

The Lord sends people to cross our paths and help us, but because of pride, we often shut ourselves off from that help.  Do your best this week to be open to the counsel, instruction and wisdom to those who love and care for us.  Perhaps the Lord sent them to us in our time of need.
